With more than 65,000 ha in size, Llancanelo Lagoon is the perfect place for ecotourism and enjoy the most spectacular semi-desert landscapes, an oasis in which lives a high diversity of mammal species feras and the plant kingdom.
A bird that stands out among the large birds of Laguna Llancanelo is the flamingo, which lies in the lagoon optimal site for nesting, feeding and resting.
Flamingo is also possible to see ducks, coots, herons and white mulberries, ibises, terns, plovers, peuquenes, coots and three types of swans, white collar, black neck and Cocorico.
Besides the birds are of particular interest due to their limited numbers, their rarity and threat of extinction, such as heparin or Flemish girl james.
For a long time unnoticed ecological potential of Laguna Llancanelo until it was declared a Provincial Reserve in January 1980, at which time began to be carried out scientific work in this beautiful region.
