   A 208 km from the city of Malargue is La Payunia, a beautiful natural park located in a desert territory, embedded in an incredible natural setting, today declared Provincial Reserve, and promptly set up in Heritage.
 
     The Payunia is a vast territory whose extent is covered by a layer of black lava, thus constituting a landscape unlike anything known, like a dark and strange world, is involved impressing each Visitors who arrive there to glimpse its exotic beauty.
 
   Averaged 10.6 for its volcanoes every 100 km2, with over 800 cones and its particular importance, the Payunia is recognized as one of the most important and extensive volcanic fields of Latin America.
 
   To travel this huge reserve, covering May to 450,000 ha, is necessary to have a guide who can explain and detail the various natural phenomena that arise there.
 
   The Payunia The reserve is also a refuge for many species of native fauna such as guanacos, foxes, rheas and a huge variety of birds, making it an ideal space for watching birds and conducting photographic safaris.
